March 1995 (What causes reactions to the nutritional program?)

By Michael Biamonte, C.C.N.

Harmful bacteria, parasites, or yeast, when it is killed in your system, many times will produce a harmful side effect. Some examples would be fever, sore throat, flu symptoms, gastro-intestinal upset, constipation, diarrhea, itching anywhere on the body. There are additional symptoms, but these are the most common. Toxic metals such as lead, mercury and copper, when removed from the body (through vitamins and special diets) can produce similar symptoms, but also pains in the joints, metallic taste in the mouth, headaches, fatigue, constipation, and heart palpitations. These are really the only reasons why anyone gets a bad reaction when taking vitamins or herbs on any type of program. The body in some way is cleansing itself of something harmful. Sometimes the introduction of friendly bacteria such as acidophilus may cause gas, bloating or constipation, when it is first taken at a rather high dose. The Golden Rule whenever anyone is getting an undesirable reaction to a vitamin or herb is to LOWER THE DOSE. The dose can be lowered as many times as necessary to a point where the unpleasant reactions stop. Even if you’re only taking the product once every few days. This is the most commonly confused issue that comes up on nutritional or herbal programs. Usually the harmful reaction is a good sign, a sign that the body is cleansing or correcting something. However, it could be happening faster than the body can cope with or deal with. THE GOLDEN RULE IS: ALWAYS LOWER THE DOSE TO WHATEVER DOSE IS NECESSARY FOR THE HARMFUL OR UNPLEASANT REACTION TO REDUCE OR STOP, AND THEN VERY SLOWLY BEGIN RAISING THE DOSE BACK UP.

How does Michael Biamonte keep track of all the patients seen by the other nutritionists?

Before and after each consultation, Michael Biamonte personally studies the patient’s folder or receives a detailed fax on a special form for this person from the nutritionist. Michael Biamonte then looks over any current and all the prior tests that were done. He then writes on a special form exactly what he wants the nutritionist to ask the patient, what tests need to be done for the next visit, exactly what he wants the patient to eat, and what supplements he wants the patient to take. This then goes in the patient’s folder and at the next consultation the nutritionist carries out Michael Biamonte’s instructions. Thus, seeing any other nutritionist is like seeing Michael Biamonte.
