RECOVERING FROM THE HOLIDAYS

Anyone experiencing flu symptoms since the holiday cheer had best totally eliminate sweets in any form from their diet. Candida-sufferers and those who have parasites may get a definite increase in flu symptoms due to the high ingestion of sweets and carbohydrates during the holidays. If you are one of these people, it would be best for you to totally eliminate sweets and carbohydrates from your diet until these symptoms subside. If you were on a candida or parasite program during the holidays and continued to take the herbal supplements, your symptoms will lessen quicker than if you had totally dropped your program.

Constipation is a very common side effect from both the food and drink consumed during the holidays. This can easily be remedied by consuming four ounces of water each half hour, along with NESS #18 and #13 (digestive enzymes specifically for constipation), available from our office. 6&1 Bowel Cleanser may also be used to provide additional fiber.

FOS

FOS is a product which we are currently relying on more to help re-establish friendly bacteria in the intestinal tract. FOS comes from specific vegetables and fruits, and is a natural sweet. FOS only will feed friendly bacteria, and will not in any way feed harmful yeast or parasites. In clinical usage, FOS has been found to help friendly bacteria multiply and regrow faster than if one were consuming large amounts of acidophilus and bifidus. FOS can cause gas and bloating on initial use. This is a sign that friendly bacteria is starting to multiply and regrowing throughout the intestinal tract. When the friendly bacteria begin overrunning the harmful bacteria, gas and bloating are produced. The solution to this is to reduce the amount of FOS until the gas and bloating subside. This could end up being a very small dose; it may be as small as an eighth of a teaspoon. This dose can be raised after a week, to a quarter of a teaspoon, and if bloating and gas do not occur, you can continue to raise the dose until you are back to the original doses recommended. You do not have to consistently take the originally recommended doses to get the full result if you are unable to tolerate that dose. All of this holds true for acidophilus, bifidus, and other forms of friendly bacteria.

BEWARE OF CONSTIPATION!

If you are on a Phase I or II program, and if you are not getting the expected results, pay careful attention to your bowels. Constipation is a main reason for lack of results on Phase I and II. Many people who were not responding well on these phases have been found to be constipated, and upon remedying their constipation, they then began getting the expected results. This is due to the backup and accumulation of poisons and toxins in the intestinal tract being absorbed into the bloodstream. As yeast, parasites and harmful bacteria are killed in your intestinal tract by Phase I and II, they can clog your elimination system and overload it. This can either cause bad die-off symptoms or inhibit further improvement. This is because friendly bacteria is not able to regrow in this debris of toxins. The solution is to keep your bowels moving, and to make sure you report any bouts with constipation to the office.
