An Interview with Michael Biamonte

Cassandra: How did you come to be interested in Natural health?

Michael Biamonte: When I was in college, getting my degree in music my father had cancer. I couldn’t understand why the doctors weren’t giving him vitamins or a special foods.

I began to read more about cancer cures from all over the world. Eventually I tried different diets, and supplements. When I saw they made a difference I was hooked.

C: Has your point of view on nutrition changed over the years?

MB: It really hasn’t at all, If anything I am more convinced than ever of my original theories.

The Simple, powerful truth is that we are all different individuals. We need a diet and nutrients that meet our particular biochemical needs.

Testing a person to see what they need is crucial as is retesting at regular intervals.

If you see someone selling a program that is the same for everyone run the other way.

C: How did you come to begin research in candida? How has your research developed over the years?

MB: After graduating Naturopathic school, I was working with the team at Grumman Aerospace on long island that had developed the life support system on the Lunar Moduele. We were developing a computer program that could simulate the human biochemistry and act as a functioning model of the body.

The purpose of the model was to determine the exact mineral, vitamin and endocrine needs of an individual person in order to balance their body chemistry and halt illnesses. The program functioned and was put to use. Many people responded extremely well to the recommendations the system made and became well again. Some of them didn’t, intact their responses were odd. In many cases that group became worse.

So we studied their test results and found that they had some sort of intestinal issue. Further research led us to the discovery that all of these people had yeasts, or parasites that were reacting allergically to the vitamins.
We told these patients what the issue was, and to seek out someone who dealt with these issues. We told them to come back when they had handled the intestinal problem and that we thought the rest of the program would work when they had cleared that up.

As it turned out, at the time there was no one effective at curing these issues. When the patients returned to me without results, Candida became my new quest. The rest, as they say is history.

C: What makes YOU as a practitioner unique, How do you care for patients differently than other practitioners?

MB: The key is that before I make any assumptions as to what is wrong, I listen closely to the patient. They know more about their health and symptoms than I do. Based on what they say, I know what tests to run. There is always an open dialogue and I never try to overwhelm a patient with technical terms. I keep an open dialogue and questions are encouraged. I test them and then treat them as an individual.

C: Where do you intend to take your practice in the future?

MB: I will eventually evolve my practice and websites into teaching tools to help both individuals and practitioners
study and research in a way that is not dependent on any institutions. Open source health is a lofty goal but would be an amazing legacy to leave behind.

C: What kind of patients can you help the most:

MB: Nutrition can help just about anything. But of course those who have digestive problems, mineral imbalances, arthritis, diabetes, cardiovascular, neurological and hormone problems best fit into my expertise.

C: What sort of patient is a bad candidate for your program?

MB: People who lack patience or are unwilling to take responsibility for their health.

Truly correcting the cause of an issue can take time and work. It is not as simple as taking a drug or having invasive surrey to to control the symptom.

C: If you could give one piece of health advice to everyone, what would it be?

MB: Of course it seems obvious, but getting on an appropriate diet can prevent so many illnesses. Without having testing, I find the book “Eat right for your Bloodtype” to be a great place to start. I have seen great overall improvements when people simply follow this diet.

Tied with that would be “Listen to your body” Symptoms always have a cause, instead of reaching for a quick fix, look deeper.

For instance A person has a headache, they immediately take an aspirin. Instead of saying, “Hey, wait a second. Am I dehydrated? When was the last time I ate a decent meal? Am I squinting at my screen, should I take a walk?” Our bodies want to function properly, they aren’t out to get us, With proper maitnence you don’t have to have system failure!
